This cable is equipped with an extra adapter that is attached to the USB Micro connector. Handy, because you can't lose it. For a number of Samsung smartphones and tablets (see overview below) you need this adapter.

Micro USB type B

The Micro USB type B connector is the standard connector for many Android and Windows smartphones and tablets, but also for other (portable) USB devices. In addition to USB Micro B, there is also a Micro A variant, but this is used so little that almost always when Micro USB is mentioned, the type B connector is meant.
